According to figures from the Registrar of Companies the number of applications to incorporate new companies rose in July this year to the same level as in February 2013.
This means company registration numbers are back to the same levels as before the ‘haircut’ and the financial crisis.
There were 1304 applications to register new companies within July 2017. This was an increase of 36.1% from the previous month. In the first seven months of this year, 7750 applications were submitted in comparison with 7654 in the same period last year.
The total number of registered companies in Cyprus stood at 214.323 at the end of July 2017, compared to 213.276 at the end of the previous month.
